A National Level Trainers camp for Integrated Amrita Meditation (IAM) Technique, Amrita Yoga, and Amrita Yuva Dharma Dhara (AYUDH) was organized in Amritapuri from the 25thDecember 2015 to 31st December 2015. Trainers from all across the country participated enthusiastically in the camp. Participants came all the way from Uttarakhand in Himalayas up north to the southernmost tip of Kerala and Tamil Nadu in south, and stretching from West Bengal in east to Gujarat in west.
Swami Amritaswaroopananda Puri, who is the Senior disciple of Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (also known as AMMA), inaugurated the camp and encouraged the trainees to lead a spiritually centered life and carry forward the message of Sanatana Dharma in the light of Amma’s teachings.
The trainees were exposed to variety of inspiring talks in English, Malayam as well as Hindi language. The talks included topics like Importance of Guru and Sanatana Dharma by senior monks of the ashram, like Swami Poornamritananda Puri, Swami Amritageetananda Puri and Swami Jnanamritananda Puri. These sessions also highlighted the fact that science and spiritually can go hand in hand. Brahmachari Sivamrita, Brahmachari Shraddhamrita, Brahmachari Amit, Bimal Majumdar and Janardhan also delivered the talks related to Yoga, Meditation and Importance of Guru. Brahmachari Amitabhan spoke about the Sanatan Dharma and Br Shubhamrita spoke about AYUDH activities. Both Sister Nivedita and N Somashekharan (external speakers) gave inspiring talks on the path related to Sanatana Dharma. Ramesh Babu spoke about Healthy life with Natural remedies.
The typical day for trainees started with early morning meditation and yoga classes, followed by talks and then detailed practice sessions. Participants also got opportunity to spend time meditating with Amma on the beach, get Prasad from Amma on the Tuesday and sit near Amma while Amma was giving darshan. During the fun filled event called campfire, a wonderful amalgamation of people from across the country came together and showcased their respective local ethnic ârt forms like songs and dance.
For the duration of entire camp, participants were made to familiarize with in-depth details of how to be the trainers for IAM Technique and Amrita Yoga. In addition to this, the talks and discussions related to various AYUDH events were also held from time to time.
Amrita Yoga sessions were conducted by Brahmacharini Shobhana, Brahmachari Shashi and Brahmachari Sudheer. IAM technique sessions were conducted by Brahmachari Amit, Brahmachari Mukesh, Sivakumar, Brahmachari Vipin and Brahmachari Jaishankar. Ayudh sessions were conducted by Brahmachari Prajith, Brahmachari Vivek and Murali.
An informative campus tour was organized for the participants to apprise the participants about the research projects undertaken by Amrita research teams, and the effects of this research on the common masses. Dr Vandana Balakrishnan, from Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, gave insights into her scientific research done on the positive effects of Integrated Amrita Meditation Technique and the related research papers.
At the conclusion of the camp, all the participants shared their feelings about how this National level camp inspired them to carry the light of IAM, Amrita Yoga and Ayudh forward, to all corners of the country.
Ranjana, from Uttarakhand, said “I do not know how Amma managed to bring me here from the far flung Himalayas to the other end on the country. I only want to become Her instrument now.”
Nilesh, from Pune, said “I feel blessed to be part of this camp. I hope to regularly practice what I have learnt here and also be able to teach it to others.”
More than 94% participants rated the overall camp as Excellent or very Good. The highlight of the camp was the special Hug that each of the participants received from Amma.
